This was the worst sounding show I've been to at this venue. Also, in my younger years I used to run sound (at much smaller venues) - it's possible that I was just in a "bad spot" and that the mix was perfect elsewhere in the auditorium, but I highly doubt it since the opening act had a perfect mix. I frequently attend shows by metal bands, so just being loud was not the issue, it was being loud enough to cause distortion. In addition, the general overall sound level/volume was way to high/loud - Simon Le Bon's vocals would frequently distort. The only times there was a good mix were songs that featured saxophone - otherwise, either one instrument (guitar, bass, or keys/synth) randomly would be way too loud in the mix and sounded (unintentionally) distorted. HORRIBLE and inconsistent mix/sound ruined most of Duran Duran's set. Rock on, Duran Duran, and don't ever stop!□□□□□□ Highland, CA Yaamava’ Theater These men have outlasted years beyond all other pretty boy one-hit cades, actually, and still look pretty damn sexy. I want everyone to know that those who may have thought in the '80s these "pretty boys" with their fanatic following would be a trend that would pass ("The Fab Five" they were dubbed) were completely wrong. ![]() They are in they're 60's and can still rock the house! No lip syncing here. ![]() Last night's show () at Yaamava' Theatre was also wonderful. I even carved their original "DD" logo in the new concrete in the patio at my parents' home (they've lived there since 1980 and it's still there to this day)! I couldn't afford to see them as a teenager, but when I was several years into my "grown-up" career I was fortunate enough to see them perform at The Barrymore on Broadway in NYC (11/2007) for their "Red Carpet Massacre" tour (VIP, front row, John Taylor's side - love love love him and have had a huuuuuge crush on him since the early '80s!) I saw them on the last night of their "Future Past" US tour at the Hollywood Bowl (), which was another fantastic show with a spectacular finale ("Rio", "choreographed" to a fireworks show). They have been my favorite band since the early '80s when I was a "tween".
